Acceptable Use Policy

Last updated: March 12, 2026

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") governs your use of the Vaulken cloud platform ("Service"). By using the Service, you agree to comply with this policy. Violation may result in suspension or termination of your account.

1. Permitted Use

The Service is designed for storing and managing text-based files through the MCP protocol and web dashboard. Typical use cases include:

  • Personal or team knowledge bases
  • Documentation and note-taking systems
  • AI-assisted file management via MCP clients
  • Structured data storage (JSON, YAML, CSV)

2. Prohibited Content

You may not upload, store, or distribute content that:

  • Violates any applicable law or regulation
  • Infringes on intellectual property rights of third parties
  • Contains malware, viruses, or any malicious code
  • Contains child sexual abuse material (CSAM) or any content exploiting minors
  • Promotes terrorism, violence, or hatred against individuals or groups
  • Contains personal data of third parties without their consent
  • Is defamatory, harassing, or threatening

3. Prohibited Activities

You may not:

  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' data or accounts
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service
  • Use the Service to conduct denial-of-service attacks or overwhelm infrastructure
  • Circumvent access controls, rate limits, or permission restrictions
  • Share your account credentials or client secrets with unauthorized parties
  • Use the Service as general-purpose file hosting (e.g., serving media files publicly)
  • Resell or redistribute access to the Service without authorization
  • Automate account creation or use bots to interact with the dashboard
  • Use the Service to store or process regulated data (health records, financial data) without appropriate safeguards and a separate agreement

4. Storage Limits

The Service is optimized for text-based files. Excessive storage of binary files (images, videos, archives) that are not indexable or searchable may be subject to removal or additional fees. We reserve the right to enforce storage quotas based on your subscription plan.

5. Rate Limits

API and MCP endpoints are subject to rate limits to ensure fair usage. Automated systems should implement appropriate backoff strategies. Deliberately circumventing rate limits is prohibited.

6. Security Responsibilities

You are responsible for:

  • Keeping your account credentials and client secrets secure
  • Configuring access permissions with appropriate scopes and path restrictions
  • Monitoring clients connected to your Vaults
  • Promptly revoking access for compromised credentials
  • For BYOB Vaults: managing the security of your own storage bucket and credentials

7. Reporting Violations

If you become aware of any violation of this AUP, please report it to abuse@vaulken.dev.

8. Enforcement

We reserve the right to investigate and take action against violations, including:

  • Warning the account holder
  • Temporarily suspending access
  • Removing prohibited content
  • Permanently terminating the account
  • Reporting illegal activity to law enforcement

We will make reasonable efforts to notify you before taking action, except where immediate action is required to protect the Service or comply with legal obligations.

9. Contact

Questions about this AUP can be directed to hello@vaulken.dev.
